Around a dozen individuals, including a Taiwanese national, were detained on Saturday in connection to an alleged case of religious conversion, according to police officials. Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar noted that no written complaints have been received from any aggrieved persons thus far. Those detained are currently being questioned, with further actions pending a comprehensive investigation.

Police reported that residents of Indrapuri Colony accused a foreign national and several others of hosting a meeting aimed at religious conversions. Members of a Hindu rights group arrived at the scene, alleging that the suspects sought to convert locals through lucrative promises. Highway Police Station SHO Anand Kumar Shahi said that roughly four dozen men and women were found gathered in two separate homes in the area.

Although the group was found consuming food and distributing religious pamphlets, no objectionable material was discovered, officials stated. The Taiwanese national, the homeowners, and about a dozen others were brought to the police station for questioning. Police asserted that any action against them would be contingent on finding concrete evidence of religious conversion. The area remains peaceful, according to police reports. Vijay Gurjar of Dharma Jagran Samanvay, associated with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, accused the foreign national of orchestrating conversions and called for stringent measures.
