Authorities have called for an FIR to be filed against a National Conference leader accused of inciting hatred at an election rally in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal segment. The rally, which supported party leader Omar Abdullah, saw the leader make contentious remarks.
Nodal officer Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani recommended the FIR against Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie, a former sarpanch. Simnani cited Ganaie's use of the term 'assassination' during his election speech in Kachan, stating that the speech promoted hatred and violated the model code of conduct.
Ganaie threatened retribution against anyone disrespecting the party flag but was swiftly stopped by Abdullah and faced backlash from the audience. Simnani emphasized the gravity of the situation and the need for stringent actions.
