Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat train on the Meerut to Lucknow route, marking a significant stride in regional development, according to BJP MP Arun Govil on Saturday. The MP noted that this new train service would expedite growth and ended his long hiatus from train travel.

'Today is a historic day. Meerut has received an incredible gift from Prime Minister Modi and the Railway Minister,' Govil said. 'This will greatly accelerate development. I had been away from train travel for a long time. My exile ends with this train as I travel from Meerut to Lucknow.' Prime Minister Modi lauded Vande Bharat as the new face of modern Indian Railways.

'The people of UP, especially Western UP, celebrate the arrival of the Vande Bharat train on the Meerut-Lucknow route. This region is witnessing a new era of development. High-speed trains like Vande Bharat instill confidence in expanding business and employment prospects,' Modi said. 'Currently, 102 Vande Bharat railway services are operational nationwide.' The Meerut City - Lucknow Vande Bharat promises to save passengers about an hour compared to the fastest current train. Similarly, new routes such as Chennai Egmore - Nagercoil and Madurai - Bengaluru will reduce travel times significantly.

The Vande Bharat trains aim to offer world-class travel comfort and speed to people in Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, enhancing regional connectivity and development. (ANI)
