The BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) convened Thursday evening to finalize the party's candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections on October 1.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President J.P. Nadda were among the principal CEC members who scrutinized the probable candidate list. Significant figures including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and Manohar Lal Khattar participated in the discussions that spanned over two hours at the BJP headquarters.
The day also saw top BJP leaders gathering at Nadda's residence, where extensive consultations on proposed candidates took place. Haryana BJP Chief Mohan Lal Badoli was present during these core group meetings. Earlier, Pradhan conducted a separate meeting with Haryana BJP leaders to consolidate information on candidate prospects. Post-meeting, Anil Vij, former Haryana home minister, emphasized the democratic nature of the party's selection process. The Haryana Assembly polls will transpire on October 1, with vote counting scheduled for October 4.
