Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam on Monday didn't hold back, calling BJP leader and Maharashtra PWD Minister Ravindra Chavan a ''useless minister'' due to the subpar condition of the Mumbai-Goa Highway. His comments came during a media interaction in Thane.

Kadam, who previously served as a minister, took a swipe at Chavan for delays in completing the Mumbai-Goa Highway, a crucial route through Maharashtra's coastal districts. ''After 14 years, even Lord Ram's vanvas (exile) ended, but our highway issues persist,'' Kadam exclaimed, urging Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to seek Chavan's resignation despite their alliance.

Responding to Kadam's remarks, Fadnavis questioned the propriety of making such statements publicly. ''What alliance principle does Kadam adhere to while making such comments in public?'' Fadnavis asked, adding that the issues raised would be examined. Senior Shiv Sena leaders recently expressed their dissatisfaction with the highway's condition to Chief Minister Ekanth Shinde's son, MP Shrikant Shinde.
