Technical Glitches Stymie Trump-Musk Interview: Cyberattack Blamed
Donald Trump

Donald Trump's much-anticipated interview with Elon Musk on the social media platform X encountered significant technical difficulties on Monday evening, attributed to a suspected DDOS cyberattack. The event, slated to start at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, faced disruptions, leaving many users unable to access the live stream.

A message indicating the page was 'not available' greeted numerous users shortly after the scheduled time. By 8:20 p.m., around 214,000 users had shown interest, yet the interview had not begun. Musk took to X to explain the situation, stating, 'There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on X,' but assured that efforts were underway to mitigate the issue.

The technical hiccup echoed a similar incident in May 2023, when another Republican hopeful, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, experienced a fraught start to his presidential campaign on the same platform. Despite the challenges, Musk opted to proceed with a smaller live audience and promised to post the unedited audio of the interview afterward.
