West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has called on protesting doctors to return to work, emphasizing her commitment to justice for the RG Kar rape-murder victim and the provision of medical services to citizens. Banerjee stated that she would resign from her post if it would help resolve the issue.

During the press conference, Banerjee assured there would be no actions taken against the doctors and expressed regret over the delays in negotiations. 'I apologize to the people who have been affected by this. We waited for doctors for three days and urged them to come and resolve the issue,' she said.

Addressing the demand for live-streaming of discussions, Banerjee clarified that it was not possible due to ongoing legal proceedings. She mentioned efforts to ensure a smooth healthcare system and reiterated that the state remains open to discussions to end the deadlock. 'We are ready to forgive the doctors and move forward,' she added.
