Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's economic advisor, Basavaraj Rayareddi, has raised concerns about securing funds for developmental works due to substantial allocations to the state government's five guarantees.

Speaking at a farmers' meeting after initiating a lake project in Mangaluru village, the Congress MLA from Yelburga, Koppal district, emphasized the financial strain caused by the Rs 60,000-Rs 65,000 crore commitments for the guarantees.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress President, D K Shivakumar, countered the claims, stating that the government is streamlining finances to continue fulfilling promises and improve people's quality of life, while Rs 52,009 crore has been earmarked for the schemes this fiscal year.
