Tesla's Modest Gain in August EV Sales, Rival BYD Surges

Sales of Tesla's China-made electric vehicles saw a modest 3% increase in August compared to the same month last year, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released on Monday.
Deliveries of the China-made Model 3 and Model Y vehicles rose 17% from the previous month, showcasing a steady rise in demand.
In contrast, Chinese rival BYD witnessed a significant surge, with its Dynasty and Ocean series of EVs and plug-in hybrids driving a 35.3% year-on-year increase in passenger vehicle sales, reaching a monthly high of 370,854 units.
