In a significant political development, Congress MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui on Monday joined the NCP's 'Jan Sanman Yatra,' an initiative spearheaded by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Siddiqui expressed dissatisfaction with his party for sidelining him.
The yatra reached Mumbai's Bandra East constituency, represented by Siddiqui, further highlighting his involvement.
Siddiqui's father, former MLA Baba Siddiqui, had recently switched allegiance from Congress to Ajit Pawar's party. The Bandra East MLA utilized this platform to support the government's women's welfare scheme, Majhi Ladki Bahin, aiming to benefit numerous women across the state.
Criticizing Congress, Siddiqui lamented his exclusion from party events and meetings, notably citing a 'Nyay' rally organized by MP Varsha Gaikwad that traversed his constituency without his consultation. He also alleged that his party denied him a nomination form for the upcoming assembly election, signaling clear internal rifts.
