The Congress has accused the BJP of leveraging the Enforcement Directorate to target Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with a money laundering case tied to MUDA land allotments. The opposition party contends that this move is an 'attack' on the Karnataka populace and a bid to destabilise an elected government.

Speaking alongside party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh described the ED's actions as politically motivated. The Congress claims the BJP aims to establish 'one nation, one election, one party' by toppling elected governments, a strategy allegedly demonstrated in recent years.

Ramesh asserted that Siddaramaiah welcomes the investigation and that the Congress perceives this as a clear case of political vendetta. He alleged the BJP's tactics are designed to intimidate and prevent the implementation of Congress' electoral promises.
