Karnataka Unveils Major Development Plans for Kalyana Karnataka Region

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has revealed an ambitious plan to transform Kalaburagi into a smart city with an estimated investment of Rs 1,685 crore. The move aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and attract investments in backward districts.
Under the Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojana 2.0, Rs 200 crore each will be allocated for basic infrastructure development in the municipal corporations of Kalaburagi and Ballari, according to Siddaramaiah's address during the 'Kalyana Karnataka Amrut Mahotsav' and the 10th anniversary of Kalyana Karnataka's special status under Article 371(J) of the Constitution.
The Chief Minister further outlined various developmental schemes, including the 'Kalyana Patha' for improving road connectivity, a proposed AIIMS in Raichur, and a Rs 5,000 crore allocation in the 2024-25 budget for the Kalyana Karnataka Development Board. Additionally, Rs 100 crore will be invested in tourism development at Anjanadri Hill in Koppal district.
