On Monday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that the state cabinet will convene on September 17 to discuss the development of the Kalyana Karnataka region. The meeting will coincide with the 'Kalyana Karnataka Utsava,' marking the liberation of the region from Nizam's rule and the 10th anniversary of Article 371(J) of the Constitution, which granted the region special status.
In a statement to reporters, Siddaramaiah mentioned that employment issues in the region will also be on the agenda. 'We may not fulfill all expectations, but we will certainly try to address some key issues. Tomorrow, we will discuss and decide on matters mentioned in the budget and other critical issues,' he said.
Kalaburagi, considered the capital of the Kalyana Karnataka region, will host the meeting. The region, which includes districts like Bidar, Ballari, and Vijayanagara, was previously under Nizam's rule and remains one of the backward regions of the state.
