In a significant move aimed at community development, the Indian Army has completed an infrastructure upgrade project for a primary school in Matiakhana Gaon, Tinsukia district, Assam. This initiative, part of Operation Sadhbhavna, is intended to improve the learning environment for students, the Ministry of Defence announced.

As part of the project, the Army supplied essential resources such as desks, benches, ceiling fans, almirahs, and bookshelves for the library, as well as office tables and chairs. These enhancements aim to create a more comfortable and conducive learning atmosphere. The school's principal and teachers have expressed their gratitude, thanking the Indian Army for its invaluable support.

In another significant event, the Indian Army organized Spiti Marathon 2024 on September 28-29, a groundbreaking high-altitude marathon, under Operation Sadbhavana 2024. Held at the Him Yodha Military Station in Sumdo, Lahaul-Spiti district, Himachal Pradesh, the marathon aimed to showcase the Army's initiatives in remote areas, promote local culture, and boost tourism. An official statement highlighted the event's support for the Government of India's Vibrant Village Programme, encouraging physical fitness, mental toughness, and fostering better Civil-Military coordination. The event was executed in collaboration with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department, Himachal Pradesh Police, and the civil administration of Kaza Subdivision.
