The EU's mission in the Red Sea, known as Aspides, has confirmed there is no oil spill in the vicinity of the MV SOUNION tanker, which was targeted recently off Yemen's coast.
Aspides added that the Greek-flagged oil tanker remains anchored and is not drifting.
This update follows a statement from the Pentagon on Tuesday indicating that the tanker was still on fire in the Red Sea and appeared to be leaking oil.
