In a significant operation, the United States, alongside the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), successfully captured ISIS leader Khaled Ahmed al-Danda. Central Command (CENTCOM) officials confirmed al-Danda's role in aiding ISIS fighters who escaped from a Syrian detention facility.

General Michael Erik Kurilla, Commander of US Central Command, highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that over 9,000 ISIS detainees are held in SDF facilities. He warned that any mass escape could endanger regional and global security, emphasizing ongoing efforts to repatriate these fighters for trial in their home countries.

Amid these developments, CENTCOM reported that US forces destroyed two missile systems in a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen, citing imminent threats to US and coalition forces, as well as commercial vessels. The Houthis' attacks on crude oil-laden ships remain a critical concern, with ongoing salvage operations following recent assaults. CENTCOM condemned the destabilizing actions and their threat to maritime safety and regional commerce.
