Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday termed the illegal narcotics trade as a global issue, underscoring that India can effectively combat the menace through determination and strategic action.

Highlighting the multifaceted threat, Shah pointed out that funds generated from the illicit drug trade are utilized for anti-national activities, including terrorism and Naxalism, posing a threat to the nation's economy.

Addressing a meeting on narcotics in Chhattisgarh, Shah laid out a four-pronged formula for tackling the issue, stressing on drug detection, network destruction, the detention of culprits, and the rehabilitation of addicts.
