An NRI was attacked and shot by two suspected assailants from his ex in-laws' family in Daburji village on the city outskirts, according to police reports.

The attackers have been identified, with arrests anticipated soon. Opposition parties criticized the AAP government, attributing fault to its perceived inadequacies in law enforcement.

Sukhchain Singh, recently returned from the US, was assaulted around 7 am when preparing for his morning walk. Assailants interrogated him about his car registration before forcibly entering his house, where they thrashed him and fired three shots before fleeing. Singh is now out of immediate danger.
