Teen Couple from Detroit Charged as Adults in Plot to Kill Girl's Mother

A 14-year-old girl and her 17-year-old boyfriend from Detroit face adult charges for conspiring to murder the girl's mother. The boyfriend allegedly tried to strangle the mother while she slept. Both teens are held at Juvenile Justice Centre and have high bond amounts. Their names remain undisclosed.

A 14-year-old Detroit girl and her 17-year-old boyfriend face adult charges for plotting to murder the girl's mother, authorities said.

According to the Macomb County prosecutor's office, the boy attempted to strangle the mother while she was sleeping in their Eastpointe home in July.

He fled when other family members confronted him. Police concluded that the teens planned the attack, initiated after the girl's phone was taken away by her mother. The teens are being held with bonds set at $1 million and $2.5 million, respectively. Their names were not released.
