Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh stated that the occurrence took place on August 12, with the police being informed on Saturday evening. A special police team was formed, and the accused were identified through CCTV footage, leading to their arrests.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with the Congress demanding stern action against the accused. The BJP countered the political criticisms by emphasizing the state's commitment to law and order and rapid response to such grievous incidents.
