The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Ajay Singhal, a pivotal figure in the recruitment and funds collection for the outlawed CPI (Maoist). This follows extensive investigations and coordinated efforts to dismantle the group's network.
According to the NIA, Singhal, originally from Sonipat, Haryana, and residing in SAS Nagar, Punjab, was heavily involved in reviving the activities of the banned organization, particularly in Northern states such as Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh.
Singhal allegedly collaborated with central members in Jharkhand and Bihar for fund collection. The agency also conducted multiple searches across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh to disrupt the CPI (Maoist)'s attempts to regain influence.
