Vigilance Team Arrests Agra Education Official for Rs 3 Lakh Bribe
A vigilance team arrested RP Sharma, the joint director of the secondary education department's Agra division, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakh. Sharma had asked for Rs 10 lakh from assistant teacher Ajaypal Singh, who reported the incident. The vigilance department laid a trap and caught Sharma red-handed.

A vigilance team on Saturday arrested RP Sharma, the joint director of the secondary education department's Agra division, for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh, officials said.
According to a statement issued by the vigilance department, RP Sharma had demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from Ajaypal Singh, an assistant teacher at an Agra school.
Singh lodged a complaint with the vigilance department, which subsequently laid a trap and caught Sharma red-handed accepting the first installment of the bribe outside his office.
Following this, the secondary education department has also launched an investigation against the officer.
