The Delhi High Court has mandated that the Samajwadi Party and its media cell remove a 'defamatory' post targeting BJP IT head Amit Malviya within four days.
In an interim order issued Friday in response to Malviya's lawsuit, the court asserted that the offensive post on social media platform X must be taken down by the defendants. Should they fail to act, X is obligated to remove it within 36 hours of receiving a request.
Malviya filed the case after the SP media cell accused him of sexual misconduct on August 3. The court deemed the allegation baseless, stating that it was made recklessly to tarnish Malviya's reputation. The court emphasized the importance of an individual's reputation and the potential adverse effects such allegations could have on Malviya's political career.
