Brazil's Supreme Court Orders Complete Suspension of 'X' Social Media Network

Justice Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil ordered an immediate and complete suspension of 'X' operations nationwide on Friday. Previously known as Twitter, 'X' was given until August 29 to appoint a legal representative in Brazil, a directive from Moraes directed at Elon Musk, the platform's owner.
The Federal Supreme Court had stated, "STF summons Elon Musk and X to appoint a legal representative within 24 hours, under penalty of suspension of activities in Brazil." The court's warning clearly indicated that non-compliance would lead to this drastic action.
The suspension will remain in effect until 'X' complies with court orders and pays the imposed fines. Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store have been instructed to block the application's use on their iOS and Android systems. The sanctions will persist until a local company representative is appointed.
