Russia's foreign ministry has accused Ukraine of using Western-supplied rockets, potentially U.S.-made HIMARS, to demolish a bridge over the Seym River in the Kursk region. This strike, which allegedly killed volunteers evacuating civilians, represents the first reported use of such weaponry in the area.
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian foreign ministry, made the announcement late Friday on the Telegram messaging app, highlighting the serious implications of the attack.
"As a result of the attack on the bridge over the Seym River in the Glushkovo district, it was completely destroyed, and volunteers who were assisting the evacuated civilian population were killed." Reuters has not yet been able to independently verify these claims.
