A woman and her two children allegedly jumped into the Brahmaputra River from the Bogibeel bridge in Assam's Dibrugarh district, according to police reports on Monday.

Official sources indicated that the incident occurred on Sunday evening and involved Punam Nagnath Udgiri, aged 29, and her young sons, Arav (7) and Arnav (6).

Authorities have recovered a bag containing personal items, including clothes, a mobile phone, and three pairs of sandals, from the bridge. Search efforts are currently being carried out by the police, SDRF, and NDRF teams.

Punam's husband, an army personnel stationed in Likabali, Arunachal Pradesh, is on his way to join the search efforts.
