Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has sanctioned the prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah concerning a site allotment scam involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), official sources reported on Saturday.
The decision stems from three petitions filed by T J Abraham, Pradeep, and Snehamayi Krishna, confirmed an official at the Raj Bhavan.
Following a petition by advocate-activist T J Abraham, the Governor issued a showcause notice on July 26, demanding the Chief Minister respond to the allegations within seven days. The Karnataka government strongly advised the Governor on August 1 to withdraw the showcause notice, alleging 'gross misuse of the Constitutional Office' of the Governor.
