Parliamentary Panels Formed for Key Oversight Roles
Key parliamentary committees, including the Public Accounts Committee, Estimates Committee, and Public Undertakings Committee, have been established. They are tasked with overseeing government accounts and the functioning of public enterprises. Other committees addressing welfare issues of OBCs, SCs, and STs have also been formed. BJP and Congress members will chair these panels.

Key parliamentary committees, including the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chaired by Congress' K C Venugopal, have been newly established, the Lok Sabha Secretariat announced on Friday.
BJP's Sanjay Jaiswal will lead the Committee on Estimates, while Baijayant Panda of the BJP will chair the Committee on Public Undertakings. These committees will scrutinize the government's financial activities and the functioning of public enterprises.
The newly constituted panels have a tenure of one year and comprise members from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, elected by both Houses. Additional standing committees focus on the Union ministries and departments, and specialized committees for the welfare of OBCs, SCs, and STs, led by BJP members Ganesh Singh and Faggan Singh Kulaste, have also been formed.
