Police Bust Major Mephedrone Drug Racket in Navi Mumbai

Police have seized mephedrone drugs worth over Rs 24 lakh in Navi Mumbai and arrested two individuals. The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Navi Mumbai police conducted a raid based on a tip-off, leading to the seizure. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered.

Police have successfully seized mephedrone drugs valued at over Rs 24 lakh from Navi Mumbai, culminating in the arrest of two suspects. The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Navi Mumbai police's crime branch carried out the operation on Thursday in the Sanpada area.

Acting on a reliable tip-off, law enforcement officials raided a location on Palm Beach Road around 2 pm, confiscating 121 grams of mephedrone worth Rs 24.20 lakh from the apprehended duo, according to Senior Inspector Neeraj Chowdhary.

A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been formally registered at the Vashi police station, launching an ongoing investigation.
