JNU Walls Defaced with Casteist Slurs: Students Demand Action

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus came under the spotlight this Saturday when its walls were found defaced with casteist slurs and communal slogans, according to an allegation by the Congress' student body, NSUI.

Slogans such as ''...Dalit bharat chhodo'' and ''Brahman Baniya zindabaad'' were discovered on the walls of Kaveri hostel. Kunal Kumar, NSUI unit general secretary, shared the photos of the incident on social media, spurring authorities to repaint the walls.

Despite the uproar, there has been no immediate response from Dean of Students Manuradha Chaudhary, and Kaveri Hostel warden Manish Kumar Barnwal declined to comment on the allegations. The student body called for action against those responsible, emphasizing that recent and past incidents highlight a troubling trend within the university community.
