Goa's Leader of Opposition, Yuri Alemao, has sounded an alarm over the state's deteriorating law and order, urging strict warnings for IPS officers caught in viral videos at discos and casinos.
Alemao highlighted the growing brazenness of criminals, alleging that some police officers are involved in unlawful activities. His call for action comes against the backdrop of the controversial reinstatement of IPS officer A Koan, who was suspended for alleged misconduct with a woman tourist.
Alemao pointed to rising crime against women, reporting over 1,230 cases of rape, molestation, and kidnapping in the last five years but only six convictions, underscoring the urgency for increased accountability in law enforcement.
