Transporters in Rawalakot, Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), have staged a protest against alleged corruption within the local police force, focusing on the community's dissatisfaction with the authorities. The protesters, which included transporters and other concerned citizens, gathered to voice their frustrations over the police's corrupt practices. They claim these practices have severely impacted their daily lives.

The protesters leveled accusations of bribery, abuse of power, and failure to address the needs and grievances of ordinary citizens effectively. One protester recounted, "The local inspector seized our vehicles, and when we attempted to secure their release, an associate was detained. We're protesting until they're freed. The police always cite paperwork issues. The government remains indifferent."

The protest showcases the growing dissatisfaction among PoJK residents, who feel neglected by both local and national authorities. A protester added, "My driver informed me of the police abuse. If unresolved, we will continue our protests and halt services. Despite paying PKR 2 crore in taxes, we lack basic facilities and are treated as migrants."

Critics argue that the PoJK government and Islamabad prioritize political strategies and election campaigns over pressing development issues, exacerbating existing problems and deepening public frustration. This neglect worsens the region's socio-economic challenges and administrative difficulties, affecting residents' quality of life.

The region's complex political situation and governance issues continue to hinder its development and the quality of life for its residents. (ANI)
