The investigation commenced following a complaint by a woman against the man's nephew. It came to light that the inspector, with the constable's assistance, sought the bribe as a means to influence the complaint's outcome, according to the ACB statement.
The man involved approached the ACB, prompting a swift verification process. Following this, charges were filed on Tuesday against the two officers under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The case highlights growing concerns over police integrity as the ACB continues its thorough investigation.
