Kerala's Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, revealed that the state government has injected Rs 1,000 crore to develop its Ayush infrastructure over the last three years. This initiative comprises the establishment of an International Institute of Ayurveda Research and a new Ayurveda medical college in Idukki district.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the two-day Global Ayurveda Summit and Kerala Healthcare Tourism event, outlining the state's policy initiatives to create a holistic healthcare environment. The event, led by the Confederation of Indian Industry with support from both the Ministry of Ayush and Central and State governments, aims to blend traditional Ayurveda practices with modern medical advancements.
Speakers at the summit encouraged promoting Kerala as 'God's own healing destination,' highlighting the state's unique blend of modern medicine, Ayurveda, and tourism. The Republic of Maldives' Minister of State for Health, Ahmed Gasim, praised Kerala's healthcare facilities, recommending improvements in coordination and standardization.
