Former MLA Balkaur Singh has resigned from Haryana's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and is gearing up to join the Congress. Singh handed in his resignation to BJP state president Mohanlal Badoli, expressing disappointment over not receiving the respect and recognition he believed he deserved despite his loyalty and efforts during challenging times.
Singh stated, 'I have worked wholeheartedly for the party and kept the flag of BJP high in difficult circumstances. Despite this, I did not get the respect in the organization or a government post.' He also criticized BJP candidate Rajendra Desujodha, recalling serious allegations made against Desujodha by former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in 2019, including accusations of drug dealing.
The former MLA condemned the BJP's stance on combatting drug abuse, citing a lack of action against Desujodha. 'The ticket given by the Bharatiya Janata Party is wrong. I have also asked senior party leaders about this. Now let's see what action is taken against the candidate and what investigation of his property is done,' Singh added. He is set to join Congress in Delhi with the support of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Kumari Selja.
