Authorities in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, have captured four wolves under 'Operation Bhediya' following a series of deadly attacks. Locals have shared terrifying accounts of encounters, as wolves have killed eight people in the area, including seven children and a woman. The search for two more wolves is ongoing.
Recent incidents involved a man and a child who have both suffered injuries. A relative of the injured child described the attack, stating the wolf was driven away after they screamed. In another incident, a man was unsure if the animal that bit him was a wolf but expressed fear as it targeted his neck.
Dr. Ashish Verma from Mahasi Civil Health Centre mentioned that the injuries were minor but confirmed that the attacks are under investigation by the forest department. Advanced measures, including drones and firecrackers, are being employed to capture the remaining wolves and prevent further incidents. Political leaders and officials remain actively involved in safeguarding the community.
