The Principal District and Sessions Judge at Rouse Avenue court issued a stern warning to an advocate on Thursday, threatening contempt of court if misbehavior persisted. The advocate represents the father of a deceased UPSC aspirant who drowned in Old Rajender Nagar.

Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna cautioned advocate Abhijit Anand against misconduct in her court, responding to his insistence that a particular application, regarding the summoning of building sanction plans related to the drowning incident, be heard by the District Judge instead of another court.

Anand's application was marked to Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) for hearing, but the advocate pushed for it to be heard by the District Judge. The court is set to decide on the bail applications of four co-owners of the basement where the incident occurred. Despite his objections, the court maintained its decision to allocate the application elsewhere.

In an exchange, Anand reiterated his right to be heard, stating, "It is my right to be heard. I want to make submissions." Judge Chandna responded firmly, redirecting the application and advising Anand to proceed to the assigned court. The judge then warned Anand against disruptive behavior in her courtroom, citing prior complaints from court staff.

The application filed by Anand called for building plans and lease deeds of the basement and third floor, citing their importance to the case. These documents, argued Anand, hold significant relevance and are necessary for the proceedings.
