Amid reports that Democratic Progressive Azad Party Chief Ghulam Nabi Azad is considering rejoining Congress, Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir has made it clear that the party is open to alliances with any faction opposing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ideology.
Despite a denial from Azad's camp, JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra stated the chapter is closed. Meanwhile, Congress's top leadership, including Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal, arrived in Srinagar to engage with party workers and discuss strategies for the upcoming elections.
The elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the first since the revocation of Article 370, will be conducted in three phases: September 18, 25, and October 1. With enhanced security, Congress aims to rejuvenate its base, leveraging potential alliances and the enthusiasm surrounding Rahul Gandhi's visit.
