Odisha Mourns the Passing of Esteemed Photojournalist Anil Prasad Mishra

Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi and former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das express condolences on the demise of senior photojournalist Anil Prasad Mishra, founder of Eastern Press Agency. Mishra, closely associated with ex-CM Biju Patnaik, passed away at 63. His last rites were performed in Puri.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended his heartfelt condolences following the demise of senior photojournalist and Editor-in-Chief of the Eastern Press Agency, Anil Prasad Mishra, on Wednesday. 'I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of senior photojournalist and EPA Weekly Editor-in-Chief Anil Prasad Mishra. May his soul rest in peace, and may Lord Shri Jagannath give strength to his family during this difficult time. Om Shanti,' wrote CM Majhi on X.

Anil Prasad Mishra, a trailblazer in the realm of photojournalism, founded Odisha's only photo news agency, the Eastern Press Agency, and EPA Weekly. A close associate of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, Mishra passed away at age 63 following a prolonged illness. His last rites were performed at Puri Swarg Dwar on Wednesday evening.

Former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das also paid tribute to Mishra's legacy. 'Senior photojournalist, founder of Eastern Press Agency, and Editor-in-Chief of EPA Weekly Anil Prasad Mishra passed away today at 10:56 pm. He was under treatment at Sparsh hospital. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace,' wrote Das on X.

Mishra was renowned for his close association with former CM Biju Patnaik. He authored a book titled 'Memories,' featuring rare photographs of Biju Patnaik, his son Naveen Patnaik, and former Indonesian president Megawati Sukarnoputri. As a pioneer, he greatly influenced the careers of many photojournalists in Odisha and worked with numerous national and international newspapers and magazines, including Reuters.
