A devastating road accident in Hathras led to the loss of 15 lives, including seven men, four women, and four children, according to local authorities. Aligarh Commissioner Chaitra V confirmed the casualties on Friday, stating, 'So far the confirmed deaths are 15.' The incident involved a collision between a roadway bus and another vehicle.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the accident and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. 'The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap in Hathras, UP. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000,' stated a PMO post on X.

Expressing sympathy, PM Modi said both local and state administrations are offering all possible assistance. 'The road accident in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh is extremely painful. My deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this. Along with this, I wish for the speedy recovery of the people injured in the accident,' he stated.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also offered his condolences and assured that proper treatment would be provided to the injured. 'The loss of life in a road accident in Hathras district is extremely sad. My condolences are with the grieving families. Instructions have been given to ensure proper treatment for the injured,' Adityanath wrote in a post on X.
