Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took a sharp jab at former Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of failing to support farmers. At an agriculture exhibition in Beed, Maharashtra, Chouhan alleged Pawar blocked the implementation of the M S Swaminathan Commission's MSP recommendations, citing market collapse risks.

Chouhan lauded the Modi government's efforts for farmers, promising fair prices for soybean, cotton, and onion crops. He praised the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra for their welfare initiatives for women, specifically mentioning the 'Ladli Behna Yojana' cash-transfer scheme.

The minister assured farmers of receiving their due payments under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana and reiterated the Modi government's commitment to doubling farmers' incomes. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other state leaders called for joint efforts with the Centre to address critical crop-related issues.
