Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) aspirants in Pune have called for the inclusion of 258 posts from the Agriculture Department in the MPSC exam. They are also urging for the exam date, August 25, to be postponed as it clashes with the IBPS exam, affecting candidates appearing for both tests.

Speaking to ANI, an MPSC aspirant voiced the collective demand, "We insist that the 258 vacancies in the Agriculture department should be added to the MPSC exam. The IBPS exam overlaps with the MPSC exam on August 25." Another aspirant detailed the demands to ANI, saying, "Our primary demand is the postponement of the MPSC exam. Secondly, we want the 258 Agriculture Department posts included in the exam," he stated.

A protest by MPSC aspirants on Tuesday night echoed these demands. In a notification, MPSC stated they could not include the newly requested Agriculture Services posts in the upcoming exam due to timing constraints. The commission clarified that due to the late receipt of the demand, it was not feasible to include the posts in the current exam cycle.

The notification elaborated, "The Maharashtra Gazetted Civil Services Combined Preliminary Exam 2024 will be held on August 25, 2024, and all preliminary operations for the exam are complete. Since it is not possible to include the Agriculture Service posts in this examination, further planning will be expedited for the recruitment process related to the requisition letter." (ANI)
