Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj is facing multiple FIRs across three police stations in Mumbai for allegedly making objectionable remarks about Prophet Mohammad and his wife, leading to tensions between two communities. FIRs have been filed at Nirmal Nagar, Mahim, and Pydhonie Police Stations for hurting religious sentiments.

During a recent religious event, Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj is accused of making derogatory comments against Islam and Prophet Mohammed, which has escalated tensions. Authorities have charged him under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including sections 196(1)(A), 197(1)(D), 299, 302, 352, 353(1)(b), 353(1)(C), and 353(2). An investigation is currently underway.

Earlier, Thane's Wagle Police Station registered a case against Ramgiri Maharaj under multiple sections for making controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammed and Islam. Hundreds from the Muslim community gathered at the police station to demand action against him. Several religious leaders were also present. Additional charges include inciting another community, spreading rumors, promoting violence, and making false statements.

In a separate incident on August 16, violence erupted in Nashik following a protest march against anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh. The protest led to injuries and property damage in Nashik's Bhadrakali area, prompting police to use mild force to control the situation. Multiple arrests have been made, and the situation is now under control.
