The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has signaled readiness to include candidates from the banned Jamaat-e-Islami, should the latter's leadership seek cooperation, according to the party's youth wing president Waheed Ur Rehman Parra.
Parra reiterated that the PDP has always championed inclusive politics, aiming to engage with diverse groups to represent the broadest spectrum of views in Jammu and Kashmir. This approach, he suggested, is essential for the region's stability and prosperity.
Despite the Centre's extended ban on Jamaat-e-Islami due to its alleged anti-India activities, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has urged for the ban's removal to allow the group to participate in upcoming elections, emphasizing that democracy thrives on varied ideas.
