Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has accused Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot of being a puppet of the Central Government, following the Governor's decision to allow his prosecution in the alleged MUDA scam. According to Raj Bhavan sources, Gehlot granted permission today to prosecute Siddaramaiah.
In a press briefing, Siddaramaiah slammed the Governor's approval, labeling it an unconstitutional act and pledging to challenge it in court. He alleged that a larger political conspiracy involving the BJP, JD(S), and other local leaders aims to topple his government, reminiscent of upheavals in Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Delhi.
Declaring his intent not to resign, Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP for lacking the moral right to demand his resignation. He accused the Central Government of opposing social justice and the Congress' welfare schemes, asserting their intolerance of his party's success. He also highlighted the lack of Governor's action against other leaders, despite complaints filed against them.
