Union Health Minister JP Nadda, speaking at the Voice of Global South Summit, emphasized India's commitment to democratizing digital public goods globally. Nadda detailed the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, asserting that comprehensive healthcare should be accessible to all through indigenous digital platforms.
Nadda outlined the four pillars of Ayushman Bharat under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. These include the Pradhanmantri Jan Aarogye Yojana (ABPM-JAY), the Pradhanmantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure mission (PM-ABHIM), Ayushman Aarogye Mandirs, and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Each pillar plays a critical role in ensuring universal health coverage and robust socio-economic development.
Highlighting India's role, Nadda stated the nation offers both technical and financial support to countries adopting India's digital public goods. He underscored the importance of coordinated surveillance, early warning systems for zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and evidence-based traditional medicine. The session spotlighted India as a pioneer in democratizing technology for holistic health and development.
