The under-construction Sultanganj-Aguwani Ghat bridge in Bihar's Bhagalpur has collapsed for the third time in two years, raising severe concerns about the construction quality and project management. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.

Local resident Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary said that the bridge collapsed around 7:00-7:30 in the morning, highlighting the government's failure in ensuring the structural integrity of the project.

The bridge, intended to connect Sultanganj in Bhagalpur District to Aguwani Ghat in Khagaria District, has been under construction for nine years, facing repeated setbacks. SP Singla Construction Company has been involved in building the bridge, with hundreds of crores spent, only to see the structure collapse thrice.

An investigation is underway to pinpoint the exact causes of these collapses and ensure that appropriate corrective measures are implemented. This is not the first time the bridge has failed; it also collapsed on June 4, prompting Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to order a probe and urge officials to identify those responsible. Kumar emphasized the need for a thorough investigation due to the repeated failures in the bridge's construction.
