Kerala CM Advocates Comprehensive Action Plans for Agriculture

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday emphasized the need for comprehensive action plans to ensure the prosperity of the agriculture sector and urged citizens to support farmers who have lost their homes and land due to natural disasters.
Extending his greetings on the occasion of Chingam, the start of the Malayalam New Year and Farmers' Day in the state, Vijayan highlighted the devastating impact of the recent Wayanad landslide, which claimed over 200 lives and disrupted many farmers' livelihoods.
Vijayan criticized the central government's neo-liberal financial policies for adversely affecting the agrarian community and stressed the importance of preventing the corporatization of agriculture. He announced the launch of the 'Kathir' mobile app, aimed at providing agricultural information and services, as part of his government's efforts to modernize farming practices in Kerala.
