Train number 19168, Sabarmati Express, derailed early Saturday morning in a block section between Kanpur and Bhimsen station in Uttar Pradesh. The Indian Railways has confirmed that no injuries were reported at the site.
Indian Railways quickly acted by dispatching buses to evacuate and transfer passengers to Kanpur safely. An 8-coach MEMU rake also left at 5:21 AM to assist in moving passengers to their destination.
According to initial reports filed by the train's driver, a boulder is suspected to have hit the engine, significantly damaging the engine's cattle guard. Indian Railways is actively investigating the incident to confirm the cause. More details are awaited as the investigation unfolds. (ANI)
