An employee of a popular coffee chain in Bengaluru has been arrested for allegedly placing a mobile phone with video recording capabilities inside a dustbin in a women's washroom, police confirmed.

The incident occurred at the Third Wave Coffee shop on BEL Road on Saturday. Police reports indicate that the suspect used his phone to record video of a woman utilizing the washroom. The woman discovered the device and immediately informed the manager, leading to the suspect's arrest. The mobile phone has been sent for forensic examination.

An eyewitness flagged the incident on social media through an account named 'Gangs of Cinepur.' The post described how the phone was recording for about two hours, strategically hidden in a dustbin bag with a hole to expose the camera. The coffee shop addressed the situation swiftly, terminating the employee and taking legal action. In an official statement, Third Wave Coffee expressed regret over the incident and emphasized the measures taken to ensure customer safety.
